NepTech wins a competition for 2024 Olympic Games

For the 2024 Olympic Games, NepTech will go to sea. Winner of the last edition of E4SM in 2020 for hydrogen solutions, the start-up won, with EODev, the governmental call for bids « Mobilities Olympic and Paralympics Games Paris 2024 ». Its hydrogen-propulsed boats will be used to transport passengers on the Seine and in Marseille. The boats, named NepRiver (for inland navigation) and NepShuttle (for sea transport), will be able to transport until 150 passengers.

With EODev’s hydrogen propulsion developed in collaboration with Toyota, NepTech’s innovations should enable a 30%-40% decrease of the consumption of the ship – compared to a similar ship. The reduction of CO2 emissions is about 1100 tons per year and per ship, NepTech estimates.

Beside the ships, NepTech and EODev are elaborating an energy supply station. Boats cannot refuel on earth, so the station will be mobile. Being equipped with two 80 kW electric motors, it will be able to embark until 480 kg of hydrogen.
