Laurent Battoue is a Partner in the Regulatory and Public law team in the Paris office of Watson Farley & Williams. With a strong focus on the energy and infrastructure sectors, Laurent has over 15 experience advising both public and private entities, especially on the awarding and implementation of public contracts, public-private partnerships and the structuring of complex contracts.
He has broad expertise in the energy sector, in particular in renewable energy, where he advises developers, grid operators, industrial groups, investment funds and banks on acquisition, sale, financing and re-financing transactions as well as on the regulatory and contractual project structuring.
In this regard, Laurent also advises on innovative projects such as hydrogen, floating offshore wind, energy storage, hybrid power plants (PV+storage), electric mobility/charging, repowering and on new strategies for the sale of electricity (PPAs, guarantees of capacity and origin).
Laurent works on all the energy deals of the Paris office and he regularly acts as lead partner on the domestic or cross-border acquisition, disposal and project transactions. Laurent is recognised for his wide expertise in the energy sector by French and leading directories.
